Privacy notice

What we hold, why we hold it, and how to get out.

Alo Boost EOOD, 14 Tsar Ivan Asen II Street, Floor 3, 1124 Sofia, Bulgaria, is the controller of the personal data described below. Written questions and requests go to contact@aloboost.com and are answered within thirty days.

What we collect

We collect as little as the desk can operate on. In practice that is three things.

Mailing list data

  • Your email address, as you typed it.
  • The date, time and IP address of the moment you confirmed the subscription. We keep this as proof that the subscription was genuine, because we are asked for it when a mail provider queries our sending domain.
  • Whether each issue was delivered, and whether it bounced. We do not place tracking pixels in the issues and we do not record whether an individual reader opened one.

Correspondence

  • Messages you send to contact@aloboost.com, including your address, the message body and any attachment — for example an offer submission or a report that a code has stopped working.

Server logs

  • Standard web server logs for aloboost.com: the requested page, the response status, the referring page, the user agent and a truncated IP address. These exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse. They are not joined to the mailing list.

What we do not do

  • We run no advertising or analytics scripts, and set no cookies. This site works with JavaScript switched off, apart from the code copy button on the shortlist page, which runs entirely in your browser.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share the mailing list with the merchants whose offers we test.
  • We do not build reader profiles, and we do not segment the list by behaviour.
  • We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. The shortlist is written for adults.

On what grounds we keep it

  • Consent for the mailing list. You gave it by confirming the subscription, and you can withdraw it at any time without giving a reason.
  • Legitimate interest for server logs, abuse prevention and answering correspondence — keeping the site reachable and the desk accountable.
  • Legal obligation where accounting or tax rules require us to keep a record, for example an invoice for a display panel in an issue.

Who processes it with us

Three categories of processor touch this data, each under a written agreement and each inside the European Economic Area:

  • Our hosting provider, which stores the site files and the server logs.
  • Our email delivery provider, which stores the mailing list and sends each issue from the aloboost.com domain.
  • Our accountant, for invoices only.

No other party receives the list. If a processor ever changes, this notice is updated on the same day.

How long we keep it

  • Email address and subscription record: for as long as you are subscribed, then 12 months after you leave. We keep it that long so that a later complaint about a mail we sent can be checked against the record, and then it is deleted.
  • Delivery and bounce records: 6 months.
  • Correspondence: 24 months from the last message in the thread, or longer if it concerns an offer still listed on the site.
  • Server logs: 30 days, then overwritten.
  • Invoices and accounting records: as long as Bulgarian law requires.

How to leave the list

Every issue we send carries an unsubscribe link in its footer. One click removes your address — there is no confirmation step, no survey and no "are you sure" page. You can also email contact@aloboost.com with the word unsubscribe and we will do it by hand, usually the same day and always within 72 hours.

Once you unsubscribe we stop sending immediately. Your address moves to a suppression record so that a future import cannot add you back.

Your other rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • show you every record tied to your address, and export it for you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete what we hold, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it;
  • restrict or object to a particular use;
  • hand your data to you, or to another controller, in a portable file.

Write to contact@aloboost.com. We answer within thirty days and we do not charge for it. If you believe we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection, 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd, 1592 Sofia.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. Access to the mailing list is limited to the two editors who send the issues, both using two-factor authentication. We keep no copy of the list on a personal device.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle data, we update this page and note the date below. Material changes to the mailing list — a new processor, a new purpose — are announced in the next issue as well.
